Bariatric Evaluations

Pre-bariatric surgery psychological evaluations, asses the psychological and behavioral contributors to obesity. These evaluations allows us to ensure that you are mentally prepared to undergo surgery and allows us to make recommendations to best support you in order to be successful in your weight loss journey.

You'll be assessed for your:

  • Psychiatric history

  • Current psychological function

  • Weight and dieting history

  • Current eating behaviors

  • Level of physical activity

During the evaluation, you'll also be educated on the behavioral changes necessary to ensure good post-operative results, as well as any psychological changes that can be anticipated after surgery.

Bariatric Behavior Modification therapy

Bariatric Surgery is a tool and not a magic pill. Putting in the work and making life-long behavioral changes is a must in order to lose the weight. It is important to change unhealthy habits that you have learned over your life-time. Bariatric Behavior Modification Therapy helps support you on this journey by helping you identify your triggers, change your eating habits, and learn how to make small changes that will make a big difference.

Bariatric Behavior Modification support groups

This group is designed to assist patients Before and After their weight loss surgery. The Pre-op group is a requirement with most insurance companies, for approval of Bariatric Surgery, and consists of four modules that are designed to help candidates become emotionally and psychologically prepared for surgery. In the group, we aid clients in learning to identify their triggers that lead to unhealthy eating, help them understand their relationship with food, and how to make small changes and stay motivated before and after surgery. Our Post-Op group consists of 20 modules, and is designed to assist you in achieving success with this new lifestyle change.
